Vision Exams for Children

We accept patients 6 years of age or older and recommend an appointment if your child has failed a vision screening test done at a pediatrician’s office or by the school nurse. For children younger than 6 we recommend a pediatric specialist. While in school, yearly evaluations are suggested.

Vision Exams for Adults

The American Optometric Association recommends a yearly eye exam for adults — not only to detect and to diagnose vision changes or problems, but also to maintain eye health. For example, glaucoma, a disease caused by increased pressure in the eye, commonly goes unnoticed by adults. Regular vision examinations are also important for the prevention of vision problems created or aggravated by today’s work and lifestyle demands. Adults in our technological society constantly use their near vision at work and at home. Environmental stresses on the visual system, including high levels of computer use or close work, can induce headaches and/or visual difficulties, which are often treatable with corrective lenses.

Our comprehensive eye examinations begin with a complete review of your vision and health history. A fully licensed optometrist will provide a comprehensive eye exam to include: a dilated retinal exam, refraction. Evaluation of binocular vision, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and other eye health issues are also part of our routine examination. All visual needs will be evaluated and discussed.

Our optometric expertise includes the treatment of anterior segment eye diseases and contact lens related complications.

Refractive surgery co-management

We provide pre and post operative care in conjunction with some of the most prominent refractive surgeons in New England, to assist in making your refractive surgery a success.

Contact Lenses

We fit and dispense (largely from stock) soft and gas permeable lenses, as well as tinted, toric and bifocal lenses. Appointments can be scheduled at both of our office locations. New contact lens patients must have a comprehensive eye examination prior to a contact lens fitting session. In order to purchase contact lenses, you must have a prescription that is one year old or less.
